Yamato Holdings Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Toshiyuki Sakurai; hereinafter “Yamato HD”), through the KURONEKO Innovation Fund II (hereinafter “KIF II”), has invested in Watt Co., Ltd. (Head office: Republic of Korea; Representative Director: Jaewon Choi; hereinafter “WATT”), a provider of indoor delivery automation solutions.
WATT is a startup that develops and utilizes autonomous robots that travel between floors of a building to provide automated indoor delivery solutions. The autonomous inter-building floor-to-floor robot developed by the company autonomously delivers packages from the entrance of the building to the front door. It has also developed a unique system that recognizes the structure of the building in real time and uses a robot arm to operate elevator buttons and get on and off the elevator autonomously.
Yamato Transport Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Seiichi Awa), a subsidiary of Yamato HD, conducted a demonstration experiment using autonomous robots traveling between building floors at three large-scale condominiums in the Kanto area from August 2025 to December 2025. As a result, driving safety and convenience of receiving packages were confirmed.
KIF II made the investment based on the results of this joint demonstration, as well as its evaluation of WATT’s outstanding technological development capabilities and the Yamato Group’s expected synergistic effects in last-mile delivery. The Yamato Group will actively support WATT’s business expansion in Japan through this investment, aiming to establish a new logistics model that will contribute to improving the convenience of package pickup for residents of large-scale condominiums.
